INTRODUCTION

National Association for the Integration and Rehabilitation of the Handicapped has started its first project School for the Intellectual disabled’ on 26 January, 1994. It was started with one Special Educator and 4 Divyang children. School provide education and training upto the age of 18 years. A section for multiple impaired children was added in the year 2005. 70 special students are receiving education with the help of 7 Special Educators. Services for the Intellectual disabled children were started in a rented building in 1994. All the services provided are free for the beneficiaries. No money is being charged from any beneficiary. caste, colour, creed, gender etc. is of no bar.

ABOUT NAIRH

Prime concern of the organisation is to serve the disabled in every possible way. Education, Training, Health and Employment etc. are the major focus of National Association for the Integration and Rehabilitation of the Handicapped. Organisation tries to make Intellectual disabled a responsible citizen of India. All round development is being taken care of.

MAIN AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  • To look after the welfare of the Handicapped in India generally and to promote their equal participation and socio-economic and general integration in society
  • To amalgamate, reconstruct, affiliate and bring together the various Societies, Institutions, Establishments. Organizations, Associations and individuals working for the rehabilitation, uplift and welfare of all types of handicapped.
  • To promote cooperation among associations. institutions, establishments, organizations, societies and individuals working for the welfare of the handicapped.
  • To take steps to educate the handicapped.
  • To take such steps as may be necessary for the prevention and cure of preventable and curable handicap. (±, 6. To provide facilities for the rehabilitation, recreation, sports, after care and k general welfare of the handicapped and for helping the handicapped in getting employment and in their economic re-settlement.
  • To advance the cause of the handicapped by all possible means.
